Our Birthing Story
All day long I was getting light contractions on and off, nothing that was too consistent. I figured that sometime the next day I would start getting more consistent contractions. Which this thought made me feel anxious for the unknown of what was about to happen. I also felt frustrated that I was having contractions and they weren't really doing anything it seemed like.
At about Midnight my contractions started to get pretty strong. Cam was asleep, so I had to keep waking him up to try to get him to time the contractions to see how close together they were. Well this went on for about 2 - 2 1/2 hours and the contractions were getting so intense that I woke up Cam and told him I don't care if they are not consistent enough or not... we are going in to the Hospital!
On our drive in I kept looking over at the Spedomitor (sp?) to see Cam going UNDER the speed limit. So I would tell him to drive faster and he would 'Oh Yeah! Ok, I was just taking in the moment of it all'. As i'm over there dancing around in my seat from pain.
So we get there and all of the nurses and stuff are all baby talking me, telling me i'm just a first time mom, and making me feel really stupid. So I finally get in the room and talk the nurse into checking my dilation. And the moment she checks it she says 'Oh my goodness your dilated to a 4 1/2! You really are in pain huh! Would you like to get the epidural?' Which I then got right away.
Then I just hung out at the hospital for several hours and started pushing at about 12:30. My mom came in for the delivery and took some video and pictures for us. Cam was such a great help during the whole thing keeping me calm and focused.
When I delivered the baby I had them put up the mirror so I could watch. And I am so glad that I did! It was such an amazing thing to witness! Then I held Analise right after she came out. What an amazing moment to be able to finally hold our little girl in my arms after imagining it for 9 months
The moment that she was born her little spirit just filled the whole room and you could feel the Power of God so strong.
